POLSKI PRODUCENT WEGAŃSKICH KOSMETYKÓW

For several years, the trend of returning to the roots, to what is natural and forgotten has been repented. We are learning to appreciate what surrounds us, we feel in the philosophy of slow life, sometimes living extremely fast. More and more often we run away from the noise cities, somewhere where the world is slowing down and we can go to it. We go to places that offer us a stay with nature, a feeling of its presence, experience of its size, simple beauty and simple life.

In today’s world, we look at nature differently than our ancestors; we must learn respect for the Earth, while our predecessors had a devotion approach to it – the Earth was the breadwinner, the mother of crops and the temple under the open sky. Due to the geographical location, we belong to the Slavs, and for centuries they have bestowed all the trees with great respect. However, oaks were the crown of this hierarchy.

The tree in ancient beliefs supported the heavenly vault in which the gods lived, and its roots, reaching deeply, were the pillars of hell. The oak was considered a sacred tree, which the Slav god was fond of, Perun – the ruler of storms and lightnings, he regularly blessed oaks, accumulating his power in them and making them healing.

Oaks have been a symbol of durability and immortality for centuries. Majestic, natural temples constituted places of rituals, areas were separated – sacred groves, which were additionally enclosed with other types of trees, so that no-one would get inside. Even in the 19th century, on the eastern wall of our country, a three-way workaround was practiced by a young couple for long-term joint cohabitation.

The manifestation of infinite divine power, enchanted in a tree that could survive for even a thousand years, aroused widespread respect and sacrilege was its beheading. In Polish phraseology, oak is attributed to men, because a real peasant should be exactly like this tree: strong, tall and great. Once, women, to add their men strength, health and sexual performance, hit men skin’s with oak branches.

Faith in health-oriented properties of the oak tree for many years was strongly rooted in Slavic areas. To avoid back pain, oak twigs  were rubbed into back skin; patients were dragged on splitted boughs; hemorrhoids, diarrhea or burns were treated with bark decoction. For the inhabitants of early medieval Europe acorns were food comparable today with grains. Hardly anyone knows, but today also powdered oak fruits are used. They can be used as an acorn or coffee, they successfully suppress the unpleasant ailment in the form of diarrhea, not allowing further dehydration of the body.

We explain these old beliefs and behaviors today thanks to the achievements of science. By tannins, phenolic acids, triterpene, flavonoids or quercetin contained in the bark of the oak, this raw material has astringent, anti-inflammatory, antiviral and antifungal properties. It prevents the development of viruses responsible for the formation of herpes (Herpes), shows antiseptic properties against staphylococcus, relieves inflammation of the skin, normalizes the secretion of sebum in oily and acne skin, accelerates wound healing. It can be found in shampoos and rinses for dark, oily and falling out hair. You can find it in gel for washing face and beard.

Oak is a huge tree that has been symbolic for many centuries: its picture is on current Polish coins, its image is inscribed in the history of cities and coats of arms. Invariably for hundreds of years it symbolizes power, courage, strength, wisdom, truth and masculinity. We are proud that this small, large raw material has found its place in our cosmetics and will serve the next generations, extracting from the masculine skin the most noble features.
